Operating Ideas for Hunter Douglas Blinds

Hunter Douglas provides several different ways to operate your custom horizontal or vertical blinds, from the standard system that comes with the blind to a completely automated system. Not all of these operating systems are available with every blind, so be sure to ask a window fashion certified professional at Blind & Drapery Corner for clarification.

Ways to Operate Horizontal Blinds

Standard Cordlock – This system comes standard with every custom horizontal blind from Hunter Douglas, and it effectively raises, lowers, and tilts the slats. Cord cleats are included and help to corral long cords when the blind is raised. LiteRise® - Available with Everwood®, aluminum, and real wood blinds, this cordless system looks neat and clean and blinds are adjusted by pulling down or pushing up on the bottom of the window treatments. SimpleLift™ - This is another cordless system, that is even safer for pets and children because a button on the bottom rail has to be pushed before the blind can be moved. UltraGlide® - If cords aren’t an issue as long as they stay fairly short, try this system with a retractable cord. PowerTilt™ - Operated with Platinum technology, this function allows you tilt one or more of your horizontal blinds with a remote control.

Make Your Vertical Blinds Move with These Operating Systems

Chain and Cord – This is the standard operating system included with all Hunter Douglas vertical blinds. Pull the cord to move the blinds right and left, or pull the chain to rotate the vanes. PowerGlide® – Powered by Platinum, this system enables you to adjust your blinds with a wall-mounted or handheld remote. PermaTilt® - Cords and chains on your vertical blinds can be an issue if you have small children, but they are easy to use. With PermaTilt, the cord is tucked safely away in a wand, but is still user-friendly. PermAssure® - This system eliminates cords entirely and the vertical blinds are opened, closed, and rotated with just one wand. Standard Cord – Skyline® gliding window panels come standard with one cord that is used to move the fabric panels of the blind left and right. Wand Control – Another option for Skyline window fashions is to use a wand to slide the panels back and forth instead of a cord.
